I'm John. Here are some songs I like.

Wesley Miles of Ra Ra Riot and Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend came together as Discovery and released a self-titled album back in ‘09. Their upbeat, electro-pop tunes were contagious and left me wondering when they’d collaborate to release more.
I still haven’t heard much news about Discovery; but, my fix has slightly subsided with this Ra Ra Riot remix of Freelance Whales’ “Hannah”. Discovery’s futuristic synth sounds are layered over Judah Dadone’s voice and intertwine to form this fine tune.

Artist: Ringo Deathstarr
Track: Imagine Hearts
To many, Shoegaze is a mystery, wrapped in a riddle, layered over distortion - it’s a style of contradictions. Soft vocals contrast harsh chords; it can be enlivening while anesthetizing; and like black licorice, people love it or spit it out in chunks onto the sidewalk. I don’t like black licorice, but I do like Shoegaze (especially as reincarnated through Ringo Deathstarr).
Crystal Castles: Not in Love (Feat: Robert Smith)
The Cure’s influence can be heard in much of today’s independent music scene. So how big of a compliment is it to get Robert Smith singing on one of your tracks?

Neon Indian: Sleep Paralysist
Most were introduced to Neon Indian as “Deadbeat Summer” played in the background of a Toyota Prius commercial.
Last year they released their first album Psychic Chasm to much accolade in the Chillwave community.
They also separately released “Sleep Paralysist” last March. I just recently stumbled upon this “feet moving” track.
